Nepal Family Holidays
Family adventure holidays to Nepal including a short and scenic Himalayan trek, city tours and elephant back safari.
This is a leisurely family holiday with your kids, full of activities that would be enjoyed by both yourself and the kids. The programmes are so arranged as to provide enough time for fun among families and not to keep the kids tired.
We visit the monuments and heritage sites in Kathmandu and also the busy and colourful local markets. Then we fly to Pokhara where we watch the spectacular Himalayas from your hotel garden, visit the caves and waterfalls and go for boating on the Phewa lake. Pokhara is a holiday town with a relaxed atmosphere. You can walk the lovely market along the lake, enjoy good foods on many of the restaurants and play with your kids. We then take you for a three day fantastic easy trek to the Annapurna foot hills. The mountain sceneries on the trek is quite superb. The lodges on the trek provide good basic facilities, though not luxury and offer continental and Nepali foods which you can choose from an a la carte menu.
After Pokhara we drive on our private vehicle to Chitwan national park, a 5hrs drive to lowland Terai and stay in an safari resort by the park .There you will enjoy elephant back safari , bird watching , canoe ride , elephant breeding centre visit( can see several baby elephants too), elephant bathing programme etc.. Asian rhinos, different species of deers, crocodiles, boars, peacocks etc are among the animals seen .This is a highly enjoyed and highly recommended family holiday with us.
As for the trekking part, you can go for a longer trek of 5 or 6 days or a shorter one of even two days, depending on what suits your family best (though we have a three day trek here).
Please visit our Nepal Jungle Safari page for further information on the safari tour or Ghandruk Cultural Trek page for more information on the three day short trek.

Testimonials from our past clients
My family and I engaged Great Holidays Pvt Ltd to organize a Ghorepani/Poon Hill trek and
Chitwan safari holiday in Nepal in September, 2013 and I can heartily recommend them to anyone contemplating a similar journey.
It was not without some reservation we embarked upon such a trip as our party included my
two young grand-daughters who are just 10 and 12,my son and daughter-in-law and my wife and myself(I am 70).
I should not have worried, as thanks to professionalism of the Company’s organization and to our
caring and fun-loving Guides and Porters we had an absolutely marvellous time.
Everything ran to plan with seemingly effortless ease.
Thanks Ram and Staff, can’t wait to return.

I just got back into Rome after my extended tour in Nepal and Bangladesh. I just also wanted to thank you and all at your company for everything you did to ensure we had an absolutely fantastic time in Nepal. The time was all too short for me but an amazing experience and I loved every minute. Hope we can return again soon. Attached are a couple of photos that might be useful to promote the tours to families - we would certainly recommend it!

It’s been a week since we returned from our amazing holiday in Nepal and back to normal routine, but we haven’t stopped talking about it! Thank you so very much for organizing everything for us from start to finish. We were very impressed with your organization and planning of the entire trip. The information was always correct and accurate and your responses were very prompt especially as we planned the entire trip with you via email! Thanks to your entire team for taking care of us from the time we arrived in Katmandu and for the entire two weeks. We felt well looked after and very safe. All your guides/representatives were very knowledgable and made sure we had a great time. We are very pleased with the way you planned out our whole itinerary, which helped us as a family to really see so much in Nepal.
We are so glad we had our family holiday in Nepal. It is a truly beautiful country. We found the Nepalese people very gentle, warm and friendly. We also enjoyed the Nepalese food and hospitality everywhere we went.
We loved every bit of our trip - the sight seeing in Katmandu, the Everest flight, the few days in Chitwan National Park, our stay in Pokhara and last but not least the 3 days trekking in the Annapurna ranges! The kids loved the trekking experience and please convey our sincere thanks to Tika and the porters for an unforgettable 3 days! They were always ready to help us and did an excellent job.
We would be more than willing to offer recommendations to any of your prospective clients' who may wish to travel with kids to Nepal.
Once again, thanks for a great holiday by “Great Holidays Nepal”! We look forward to coming back again soon!

From our initial contact with Great Holidays, we were very impressed with their level of service and quick follow-up. They were very helpful in planning a trip suitable for our family and 3 children under the age of 12. We had some concerns but they provided all the information and support necessary to make for a wonderful trip.
Upon arrival at the airport, they were there 100% of the time to help us, answer questions and guide us. We were well taken care of the entire trip.
They took extra care for us during the trek to insure our children's safety. In fact, the guide and porters played with our children and made it a fabulous experience. We felt that we were in good and caring hands. We hated saying good-bye to them.
Nepal is not an easy place to travel solo so we were very happy to have hired the services of Great Holidays. Their commitment to service and customer satisfaction are above and beyond what we normally experience living in Asia. We whole heartily recommend them for future clients.

'Great Holidays have just given us the Nepal family adventure of a lifetime, and magical, life-affirming experiences for our four children - aged between 7 and 14. Whitewater rafting, pony-trekking and elephant bathing were wonderful additions to temples, trekking and elephant safaris. Ram and his team could not have provided better service - friendly, knowledgeable, efficient and always courteous. Everything went beautifully according to plan, but we particularly appreciated the flexibility with which Great Holidays accommodated our last-minute whims and changes. For a great value Nepalese experience combining wonder and safety, I couldn't recommend Great Nepal more highly'.

Nepal is best known for the world's highest mountains and beautiful trekking trails but we have a great variety of experiences to offer to the visitors .Kathmandu and the nearby towns of Patan and Bhaktapur are regarded as open museum of medieval arts and architecture , boasting a total of seven UNESCO world heritage sites.
