This trip is the classic overland tour across central Tibet combined with a five day trek from Tingri to Everest base camp. The spectacular flight across the Himalaya takes us to Lhasa . In lhasa we explore important sites like the jokhang temple, Potala and Norbulingka palace and Drepung and sera monastery.En routew to Tingri from Lhasa we visit the Gyantse fort and Kumbum monastery in Gyantse and the Tashilhunpo monastery in Shigatse.The turquoise lakes , the nomad camps and the unique beauty of the plateau makes our trip really exotic.

We make a rest day in Tingri where we meet our trekking crew from Nepal.We trek via the village of Chholung and cross the high Lamna la pass (5200m ) on the second day.The pass commands tremendous view of surrounding peaks .Meeting many yak herders along the way and enjoying views of Everest And Gechung kang you reach the Rongbuk monastery on the fourth day. Rongbuk monastery is the gateway to Everest region .It lies at the foot of Rongbuk glacier at an altitude of 4980 m and is just few km away from the base camp of Everest and commands good view .Next morning we vist the base camp (5150 m) to watch the gorgeous close view of the world's highest peak and proceed for our journey to Kathmandu by 4 WD jeep.
