This short trek to the north east of Kathmandu valley offers opportunity to visit Sherpa and Tamang villages and also good mountain views.Low elevation and easy access are other attractions.An hour of drive takes us to the trailhead Sundarijal . After few hours we reach the Shivapuri ridge offering gorgeous views of Langtang lirung(7246 m), Gauri Shankar (7134 m) and Ganesh himal (7405 m).

En route we pass through villages of Kutumsang and Tharepati(3597 m) and reach Tarke Ghyang.After enjoying good view s here we reach to melamchi pul from where we catch our vehicle for Kathmandu .

Itinerary

Day 01 Drive to trailhead Sundrijal (1460m) - Chisapani (2215m)
Day 02 Chisapani - Kutumsang (2470m)
Day 03 Kutumsang - Tharepati (3510m)
Day 04 Tharepati - Takeghyang (2740m)
Day 05 Exploration day around Tarkeghyang
Day 06 Tarkeghyang- Sermathang (2510m)
Day 07 Sermathang - Melamchipul (870m) and drive back to kathmandu
