This is a highly rewarding trek offering all the best of Everest region. This covers both the Beautiful Gokyo valley and Everest base camp and involves crossing the Cho La pass at 5330 m. The pass involves no technical climbing and anyone with good fitness can do this amazing trek. All the highlights of Everest region like Gokyo lake, Gokyo Ri, Everest base camp and Kalapattar are covered on this itinerary.
We first visit the pristine Gokyo valley, enjoy the serene beauty of the Gokyo lake and cross the Cho la pass to reach eastward on the side of Everest base camp. We then enjoy yet another spectacular view from Kalapattar and Everest base camp. En route back to Lukla, we visit the lovely Tengboche monastery.
Itinerary
- Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu, transfer to hotel, trip briefing
- Day 02: Fly to Lukla (2804 m) trek to Phakding 2610 m
- Day 03: Trek to Namche Bazaar 3440 m
- Day 04: Namche Bazaar acclimatization day.
- Day 05: Trek to Dole 4200m
- Day 06: Trek to Machhermo 4410 m
- Day 07: Trek to Gokyo 4750 m
- Day 08: Climb Gokyo Ri (5480 m) & back to Gokyo. Rest day
- Day 09: Trek to Thangna 4500 m 4-5 hrs
- Day 10: Cross Cho La pass at 5300 m) & trek to Dzongla 4710 m7-8 hrs
- Day 11: Trek to Lobuche 4910 meters
- Day 12: Trek to Everest Base Camp (5365 m)- back to Gorak Shep.
- Day 13: Early morning Climb Kalapattar (5554 m) , trek down to Lobuche 4910 m
- Day 14: Trek to Pangboche 3930 m
- Day 15: Trek to Monjo
- Day 16: Trek to Lukla
- Day 17: Fl y to kathmandu early morning, free day.
- Day 18: Kathmandu guided sightseeing tour
- Day 19: Fly bck home /onward destination.
Those willing to climb Chhukung Ri en route can do the final stretch of the itinerary as follows
- Day 15: Lobuje to Dingboche
- Day 16: Dingboche to Chhukung
- Day 17: Climb Chhukung Ri ( 5500m ) & trek to Tengboche or Pangboche.
- Day 18: Trek to Monjo
- Day 19: Trek to Lukla
- Day 20: Fl y to kathmandu early morning, free day.
- Day 21: Kathmandu guided sightseeing tour
- Day 22: Fly bck home /onward destination.
