Dhaulagiri is a high and exceptionally beautiful mountain west of the Annapurnas and the Kaligandaki valley.The trek to the basecamp of Dhaulagiri at 4750 m is strenous and needs careful planning, but for the seekers of adventure it offers great challenge , superbly beautiful views and a total wilderness experience.This trek involves high passes like French pass (5360 m) and Thapa pass (5200m) and demands some mountaineering knowledge. The most beautiful sceneries await at the bse camp of Dhaulagiri , at French pass and at the hidden valley immediately after crossing French pass. The Dhampus pass between Tukche Peak and Thapa peak offers another stunning view.The are more than a dozen peaks above 7000m on this route.
